Focus of the Week

Check here for weekly updates on what the focus will be for literacy and numeracy.

The expectation is that teachers are to provide 5 hours of instruction each week starting on Monday, March 30th. The main focus is Numeracy and Literacy, however there will be opportunities for your child to engage in some Science and Social Studies activities.

I will post a video every Monday, or write a brief message below to explain what your child can work on during the week. I will also post extra videos that provide mini lessons and tutorials for how to use materials, and links that I provide.

This is a learning process for us all, so don't hesitate to e-mail me to ask questions.

Here are some other writing ideas that you can work on

  • Keep writing your story from the Writing Challenge from last week. Use the Story Starters website to help you get started. Remember: Good authors write with LOTS of detail so that the reader can envision the story in their head like a movie! Don't forget to revise your story as you go!

  • Students might find it helpful to keep a journal about their day or week. Write about the day's events, feelings, and goals. The great part about keeping a journal, is that you can write what you want! It's your journal!

  • Students can also choose to work on their descriptive story about the jungle. This can be found in your child's belongings that you picked up a couple weeks ago.

  • Work on our Class Story

Mr. Sheedy assigns you each week.

Remember: It is so important to practice every day! Humans learn by doing! We have to practice things over and over in order to master our skills.

Use your Tools and Resources duotang to help you out!
